Audience Feedback

After we had finished making our opening sequence we asked other groups in our media class their opinions on our work. We collected the following information from them:
Group 1
1) Is the product a clearly recognisable opening sequence?
- Yes as it has title inbetween.

2) Is the genre apparent?
- Yes

3) Who do you think the target audience is for the product?
- Teenagers - adults

4) Do you think that the product would appeal for the target audience? Give reasons for your answers.
- Yes, as it has those components in the opening sequence.

5) How well do you think the following technical areas have been addressed? Give examples for each.
- Cinematography - They used good varied shots.
- Sound - The is a song in the background which sets the scene.
- Editing - They cross cut between shots.
- Mise-en-scene - The use of pills shows death.


6) Overall how successful is the finished product? Give an example of something that could be improved or worked well.
- It is good as it sets the mood of the opening sequence. However, more shots could be added in.



Group 2
1) Is the product a clearly recognisable opening sequence?
- Yes

2) Is the genre apparent?
- Yes

3) Who do you think the target audience is for the product?
- Teenagers

4) Do you think that the product would appeal for the target audience? Give reasons for your answers.
- Yes, emotionally appealing, characters are also young girls (aged 15)

5) How well do you think the following technical areas have been addressed? Give examples for each.
- Cinematography - Close up of water was really good.
- Sound - Really good non-diegetic sounds.
- Editing - Seamless
- Mise-en-scene - Tablets - authenticity


6) Overall how successful is the finished product? Give an example of something that could be improved or worked well.
- while slightly confusing, brilliantly done, and very entertaining.

Group 3:

1) Is the product a clearly recognisable opening sequence?
Yes

2) Is the genre apparent?
Yes

3) Who do you think the target audience is for the product?
teenagers

4) Do you think that the product would appeal for the target audience? Give reasons for your answers.
Yes because the tone of it was set and the story line

5) How well do you think the following technical areas have been addressed? Give examples for each.
- Cinematography-close ups on the tablets, tolls and bath tub
- Sound-music which adds to the tone
- Editing-Cross cutting
- Mise-en-scene-flowers and props eg: knife and the blood


6) Overall how successful is the finished product? Give an example of something that could be improved or worked well.
Cross cutting works very well and the overall appearance of the final piece was very impressive however with the actors they must make sure that they don't look into the camera


Group4:
1) Is the product a clearly recognisable opening sequence?
Yes

2) Is the genre apparent?
yes-thriller

3) Who do you think the target audience is for the product?
Teenagers and above

4) Do you think that the product would appeal for the target audience? Give reasons for your answers.
Yes as this product uses conventions of a thriller eg: young girl is the victim

5) How well do you think the following technical areas have been addressed? Give examples for each.
- Cinematography-close ups of the tablets and the blade being laided out- long shot of girl walking in the cemetry
- Sound- non diagetic music created the atmosphere
- Editing-cross cutting between present day and the flash backs (past)
- Mise-en-scene- between the grave yeard and bath room props used such as flowers tablets dark clothing setting graveyard and bath


6) Overall how successful is the finished product? Give an example of something that could be improved or worked well.1) Is the product a clearly recognisable opening sequence?
We think that the overall product is very successful and hooks the reader making them want to know what is going to happen. A shot that could be improved is when a character is looking into the camera.


Group 5:
1) Is the product a clearly recognisable opening sequence?
Yes

2) Is the genre apparent?
Yes

3) Who do you think the target audience is for the product?
15+ teenagers to older

4) Do you think that the product would appeal for the target audience? Give reasons for your answers.
Yes because of the tone and also because of the conventions used

5) How well do you think the following technical areas have been addressed? Give examples for each.
- Cinematography-close up of the plug and the water running down it
- Sound-sound in the background created the mood
- Editing-cross cutting between past and present
- Mise-en-scene-flowers the blade the blood ect..


6) Overall how successful is the finished product? Give an example of something that could be improved or worked well.
Very good work well shot and well edited.
